About Distribution of Duties among Board VakıfBank's Board of Directors took the following decisions unanimously on May 27th, 2019 regarding the distribution of duties among Board Members as per the Articles of Incorporation
Mr. Abdulkadir Aksu has been selected as the Chairman, Mr. Sahap Kavcioglu has been selected as the Deputy Chairman. Mr. Abdi Serdar Ustunsalih has been selected as the CEO The short bios of our new Chairman Mr. Aksu, CEO Mr. Üstünsalih and new board member Mr.Yakut can be found below. Mr Abdulkadir Aksu-Chairman Mr Aksu born in October 12th, 1944 in Diyarbakir. His father and mother are named as Muzaffer and Vedia respectively. He graduated from Ankara University/Faculty of Political Science. Within the state administration, he served as district governor of Sarikaya in the years from 1973 to 1976, followed by acting governor of Kahramanmaras in between September 1st 1976 to October 9th 1977. Till September 1980, he also served within Central Police Chief and Chief Police Officer roles. He was appointed as Rize governor with the Cabinet decree dated August 29th 1980 and appointed as Central governor with the Cabinet decree dated October 17th 1980. During his governor position in Rize, he also acted as Rize mayor. He became Gaziantep governor in between February 9th, 1984 to September 18th 1987 and he was elected as "The bureaucrat of the year in 1985". He was elected as 18th term Diyarbakir PM from Mainland Party in November 29th, 1987. He also appointed as his party's group deputy chairman in Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA) in December/1987. He was appointed as İnterior Minister on March 31st, 1989 and carried out this role till June 24th, 1991. He was re-elected as Diyarbakir PM from Mainland Party in December 24th, 1995 and acted as his party's group deputy chairman in TGNA and assigned to the State Minister position responsible for South East Anatolia Project. He left Mainland Party and joined to Welfare Party on August 16th, 1996. He became Vice President of Welfare Party. Following the closing of Welfare Party by Constitutional Court, he joined to the Virtue Party. He served as Interior Minister during 46th and 47th Cabinets, acted as State Minister at 53rd Cabinet, again acted as Interior Minister during 58th and 59th Cabinets. Mr Aksu is fluent in German, married with two children. Mr. Abdi Serdar Ustunsalih-CEO Mr. Ustunsalih began his career as an associate in 1991 at VakıfBank. After having served as manager in various branches and departments in VakıfBank, he served as the Head of IT, Retail Banking, Banking Operations, Basic Banking Application Development departments. Currently, Mr. Ustunsalih is also the Vice Chairman of Gunes Sigorta A.Ş. and Vakıf Enerji A.Ş., Board member of VakıfBank Private Social Security Fund and auditor of VakıfBank Social Pension Fund. He was promoted to VakıfBank Executive Vice Presidency position on July 5th, 2018. He was elected as Board Member at the 65th Ordinary General Assembly Meeting of VakıfBank which is held May 27th, 2019. He was also elected as the CEO of VakıfBank by the Board decision as of the same day. Mr. Ustunsalih is married with two children. He has also served in many foundations and associations. Mr Sadik Yakut-Board Member Mr Yakut born in Kayseri/Buyukkaramanli in February 3rd, 1956. His father and mother are named as Ali and Kumru respectively. He was graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Law. In the years from 1979 to 1999, he served as public prosecutor, investigation judge at Ministry of Justice general directorate of prisons and detention houses in Halfeti, Camardi, Savastepe and Giresun in sequence which is followed by Ankara public prosecutor position. He also became board member in Genclerbirliği Sport Club. He became one of the founding members of Justice and Development Party. During the years of 1999 to 2015, he was elected as MP from Kayseri district in 21st, 22nd and 23rd terms. He was also elected as Vice Chairman of Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA) during 22nd and 23rd terms. Mr Yakut was rerun for the Vice Chairman position in TGNA for the fourth term. Mr Yakut is married with three children. According to CMB legislation, in case of a contradiction between the Turkish and English versions of this public disclosure, the Turkish version shall prevail. |
